VamosBets Ethiopia Review

VamosBets, also known as Vamos Bet or Vamos Betting House, is one of the older names in Ethiopian sports betting. It is a local operator, not an international brand, and it combined an online sportsbook with more than 80 betting shops across the country. In this VamosBets review we cover who is behind the brand, how registration and payments in birr worked, what the sportsbook and casino offered, and what has happened since December 2025.

We based this review on the brand’s official Telegram channel, archived versions of its websites and our own checks of the domains in October 2026. Where information comes only from review sites, we say so.

The most important point first: on 5 December 2025 Vamos announced on its official channel that its service was suspended indefinitely. At our last check in October 2026, vamosbets.net still loaded an empty site shell, but there was no sign that the brand had resumed betting.

What is VamosBets?

Vamos has used two web addresses. The older one, vamos.bet, appears in web archives as early as August 2018, which makes it one of the longest-running betting brands in Ethiopia. The newer vamosbets.net was the address linked in the last post on the official Telegram channel. That channel, which has about 42,000 subscribers and posts in Amharic and English, describes a network of more than 80 betting shops in Ethiopia. Some secondary sources put the number above 200, but we could not confirm that.

The company behind the brand appears to be Vamos Entertainment Plc. A company of that name was on the regulator’s December 2025 list of 22 suspended sports-betting firms, and the press also named “Vamos Betting House” among the banned operators. That implies the brand held a sports-betting licence from the national lottery regulator before December 2025. One review quotes a licence number, but we could not verify it.

The website ran on a white-label sportsbook platform with an English interface. The Telegram channel was bilingual, and its last post asked customers to wait until the service returned.

VamosBets registration and login

We could not register because the service has been suspended since December 2025, and Vamos never published a sign-up guide that we could find. On Ethiopian sportsbooks of this kind, opening an account typically works like this:

1. You enter your Ethiopian mobile number in the +251 format.
2. You set a password or a numeric PIN.
3. You confirm the number with a one-time SMS code.
4. You confirm that you are 21 or older, the legal betting age in Ethiopia.

Vamos login and betting shop tickets

Online login on such sites typically uses the phone number and password. Because Vamos also ran shops, the site reportedly had a ticket-check function for bets placed at a counter. If you still hold an old Vamos ticket or balance, rely only on announcements from the official channel, and never share SMS codes with anyone who contacts you privately.

Deposits and withdrawals in birr

According to the front-end code of vamos.bet, the site supported deposits through HelloCash and telebirr, plus a USSD deposit flow. Some third-party sites add M-Birr, but we could not confirm it. Vamos did not publish minimum deposit or withdrawal amounts in any source we could verify, and we have no data on payout times.

Since 15 December 2025 banks and payment operators in Ethiopia have been ordered to block betting payments, so these methods are not available for betting at present. You can read how each wallet works in our guide to telebirr betting and other payment methods.

Vamos betting: sports and odds

Sports betting was the core of Vamos. In Ethiopia most bets go on football, above all the English Premier League and the Ethiopian Premier League, and the sportsbook was built for that market. Review sites also describe live betting at VamosBets, which matches the platform type, but we could not confirm it on the official site. We found no evidence of a cash-out feature. We have no margin data for Vamos, so we make no claim about how its odds compared with other bookmakers.

Casino, virtual games, Aviator and keno

Vamos went beyond sports. The vamos.bet site included a frame with TVBet virtual games. In November and December 2025 the official channel ran regular “Vamos Game of the Day” posts featuring slots such as 5 Lions Gold, Power Sun and Ultra X Treme. We found no confirmation of Aviator, other crash games or keno at Vamos. For keno, see our guide to keno betting online in Ethiopia.

VamosBets bonuses and promotions

Press articles and review sites have mentioned VamosBets multi-bet boosts and welcome offers. We could not verify those reports, and the figures vary, so we do not repeat any amounts. With the service suspended, there are no current promotions. Any “Vamos bonus” advertised today on social media or a look-alike site should be treated as suspicious.

Mobile site and app

Vamos worked as a mobile-friendly website. We found no official app for Android or iOS, and claims of a Vamos app on third-party sites are unverified. Do not install APK files that use the Vamos name.

Is VamosBets safe?

No betting operator in Ethiopia holds a valid licence today, and the licence that Vamos appears to have held was suspended and then revoked in December 2025. If you look the brand up, keep these points in mind:

• The official addresses are vamosbets.net and the older vamos.bet, plus the Telegram channel @vamosbetofficial.
• vamosbet.et and vamosbetting.com are information and affiliate sites, not the operator. vamosbet.com and vamosbets.com are parked or for sale.
• Betting is for adults aged 21 and over. If you need help, see our responsible gambling page.

Our verdict on VamosBets

VamosBets was a serious local operator with a long history, a large shop network, a sportsbook with virtual games and slots, and a sizeable community on Telegram. Its payment options were narrower than at some rivals, it never had an official app, and its bonus figures cannot be verified. Above all, the brand has been suspended since December 2025, which is why its rating is in the middle of our table. We will test Vamos betting again if it returns under the planned new licensing framework.
