BetX Ethiopia Review

Bet X – written BetX and found at betx.et – is an Ethiopian-facing site built around virtual sports, crash games and instant games rather than a classic sportsbook. Its own page title describes it as “Virtual Sports and Instant Games in Ethiopia”, and unlike most brands we review, the site was still online at our last check on 9 October 2026.

Online does not mean licensed. The footer still shows a licence statement from the National Lottery Administration, but the Ethiopian Lottery Service (ELS) revoked every sports-betting licence on 15 December 2025 and stated in July 2026 that no operator holds a valid one. We did not test whether BetX accepts real-money play from Ethiopia today, so we treat its status as unclear. This review covers what the site shows: the games, the payment rules, the October 2026 promotions and support.

What is BetX?

BetX has been online since at least April 2024, when betx.et first appears in web archives. The site runs on BetFounders, a betting-platform provider whose logo sits in the footer. The terms and conditions do not name a company – they refer only to “the Company” and “BetX Group” – so we could not identify the operator.

The licence line in the footer gives a number dated 2016 in the Ethiopian calendar, which corresponds to 2023/24. That licence predates the December 2025 revocation, so it should be read as historical. The interface is in English only; we saw no Amharic language switch. The site displays a 21+ badge, which matches the legal minimum age for betting in Ethiopia.

Support runs through a customer-centre phone line, a Telegram bot and live chat on the website.

BetX Ethiopia registration and login

BetX accounts are tied to a mobile number: the terms say deposits must come from the phone number registered on the account. We did not complete a registration, so we cannot show the form step by step. Sign-up at Ethiopian sites of this kind typically works like this:

1. enter your mobile number in the +251 format;
2. choose a password or PIN;
3. confirm the number with a one-time code sent by SMS;
4. confirm that you are 21 or older.

Bet X login and support

Login uses the same phone number and password. If you are locked out, the official route is the live chat on betx.et or the brand’s Telegram support bot, linked from the site itself. A Telegram channel called “betx_et” belongs to an affiliate promoting a different casino, not to BetX. Never share your PIN or SMS codes.

Deposits and withdrawals in birr

The site has a payment block, but at our last check it did not list specific methods in the page code, so we cannot say which wallets BetX works with. What the terms do make clear is the rule above: the deposit must come from the same mobile number as the account. The minimum we can confirm is 50 birr – that is the amount needed to qualify for the first-deposit free bets; a general cashier minimum is not stated. We have no data on withdrawal limits or speed.

Sports betting and odds

If you are looking for football odds on the English Premier League or the Ethiopian Premier League, BetX is not the right place. We found no confirmed real-money sportsbook. Its “Sport” category (32 titles) appears to hold virtual football games, not bets on real matches.

Virtual sports are the closest thing BetX offers to sports betting: simulated matches whose results are generated by software, so team form and news play no role.

Casino, virtual games, Aviator and keno

Games are where Bet X puts its effort. When we checked the site on 9 October 2026, the lobby included:

BetX bonuses and promotions

These are the offers listed on the BetX promotions page on 9 October 2026:

• First-deposit free bets – 10 free bets for a first deposit of 50 birr or more;
• Extra free bets – 15 free bets for a deposit of 1,000 birr or more;
• Daily cashback – calculated on days with a net deposit and credited at 04:00 the next day, with 1x wagering, a 3-birr minimum to transfer and a 48-hour expiry; live games, bonuses, free spins and tournaments do not count, and the percentage is not stated;
• Aviator “RaceX” – 50,000 birr in daily rewards between 15:00 and 20:00 for the top 100 players, with a minimum bet of 4 birr.

Larger tournament banners on the page show dates without a year, so we leave them out.

Mobile site and app

BetX is a web platform that you open in the browser on a phone or a computer. The site shows a “Download App” tile, but we could not confirm a working download, and we found no iOS app. Do not install a “BetX APK” sent to you on Telegram – an app from an unknown source can read SMS codes and capture your login.

Is BetX safe?

BetX is more visible than most brands we track: the site is online, the terms are published, support works by phone, live chat and a Telegram bot, and the promotions come with written conditions. That said, the operator is not named, the platform belongs to a third-party provider, and the licence shown on the site predates the December 2025 revocation of all sports-betting licences. Our verdict on BetX

Bet X is not a sportsbook in the usual Ethiopian sense. It is a games site with a big lobby of slots, crash and instant games, Spribe keno, virtual sports and simple, clearly worded promotions such as 10 free bets for a 50-birr first deposit. Its weak points are just as clear: no confirmed real-money sports betting, an English-only interface, no published list of payment methods and a licence line from before the national revocation. Its status in Ethiopia remains unclear.
